A symposium on Catholic-Orthodox ecumenism & the future of Christian dialogue
The Likoudis Legacy Foundation, in collaboration with the Orientale Lumen Foundation, will host an ecumenical conference on Christian unity in Baltimore, Maryland. The Foundation is exploring the possibility of liturgical prayer services and possibly a Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary — America's first cathedral.
The conference will bring together Catholic and Eastern Orthodox theologians, hierarchs, and scholars for a program of academic lectures, prayer services, and sacred music, continuing the ecumenical vision that defined the life's work of James Likoudis. The event takes its name and spirit from the Orientale Lumen tradition of East-West dialogue, which has convened annually since 1994 to deepen the bonds between Catholics and Eastern Christians.
